Archie Malcom and Frank Wilkins, meeting at the Branding Iron at Firewheel Golf Park to discuss the next neighborhood newsletter, watched as hail stones as big as golf balls (ironically) covered the courses.

 
As dark clouds moved toward north Garland a little earlier today, a CodeRED phone message from the city alerted residents that there was the possibility of rain, thunderstorms, and hail. It wasn't long before hail stones were pelting cars, roofs, trees, and everything else in the open.
 
The warning gave residents several minutes to react to protect their property and avoid additional damage. If you aren't on the CodeRED notification system, follow the link above to add your number. I received notice on my cell phone. You can list your home, work, and cell numbers.
