10/22/08
The District 1 Crime Stats for September weren't particularly high compared to other months; they were basically in the middle. What was different was the slight rise in violent crimes toward people and strong decrease in crimes against vehicles.
Theft reports were on the higher end of the range we see with most directed to businesses rather than in the neighborhoods. Kohl's had a number of reports and that might be indicative of higher enforcement.
Be safety conscious at all times. Report incidents to the police immediately. Report suspicious activities or persons. The non-emergency number is (972) 485-4840. Let's work to keep our families and neighbors safe!
