English (US)   Thefts on the Rise in April  -  Categories: Police Department, Neighborhoods  -  @ 08:39:30 pm

All the miscreants in the district in April were thieves. All of our crime stats for the month point to some type of burglary or theft.

For several other categories, we haven't had an incident in over six months and those categories aren't reflected on the chart below.

Unfortunately, as other types of criminals took a holiday, the number of thefts was on the rise. Many were for shoplifting and other snatches, usually for less than $500. Most of those were in the retail areas.

Car burglaries were up some but those were spread across the district and over several neighborhoods.

Be safety conscious at all times. Report incidents to the police immediately. Report suspicious activities or persons. The non-emergency number is (972) 485-4840. Let's work to keep our families and neighbors safe!

If you want to review the areas that have reported incidents over the last month, download the complete report here for address-by-address information that includes your neighborhood.
