English (US)   Crime Reports Trending Down Again  -  Categories: Police Department, Neighborhoods  -  @ 06:47:44 pm

Our February crime statistics fell about 15% from January.

Thefts are still high but two-thirds of those reported are at commercial/retail locations. Copper thefts are all too common. I will be starting discussions in the Council's Public Safety Committee soon to see if there are ways to curb this growing and pestilent crime.

The next highest category is vehicle burglaries. Such incidents were most often in neighborhoods this month. Remember, keeping your garage door closed and your vehicles locked are the easiest ways to avoid being a victim.

Be safety conscious at all times. Report incidents to the police immediately. Report suspicious activities or persons. The non-emergency number is (972) 485-4840. Let's work to keep our families and neighbors safe!

If you want to review the areas that have reported incidents over the last month, download the complete report here for address-by-address information that includes your neighborhood.
